Most Common Problems Of Nutrition For Children

By: Rene Graeber

Most of the parents will do everything to protect their children from any possible harm. Sometimes, however, it is impossible to stay with them 24 hours a day and we can't foresee all dangers they will encounter in their lives. To make matters even worse, children tend to learn faster when they can touch something, not only see it from a distance which makes protecting them almost unfeasible task.

Still, even those parents who allow their young preciouses to taste some, controlled of course, danger, have problems when trying to apply some proper nutrition for children. It usually starts when a child for the first time protests during tasting a new food and parents who do not want to let a little one to stay hungry give him something he or she wants to eat, but not necessarily something he or she should eat.

As we all know that veggies should appear in our child's diet as soon as possible, just like some fruits. When an infant will get used to various tastes of plant food he or she will much more likely eat them in the future. A good way to smuggle veggies into our child's diet is to mix them with food he or she likes or to use some of dressings or spices (only those allowed for young children!).

There is no need to include mineral and vitamin supplements into the diet of our child if only we use proper nutrition for children. For years such adding was a must-be element of any good diet, but when a child has an access to a healthy and various food he will also get all necessary for his growth elements and adding supplements may even cause a harm.

All children love sweeties and many parents ration them out every gram of chocolate or candies for they think that too much sugar intake may result in Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Still, there is no scientific proof of such coincidence and just the contrary: children who can only watch as their friends eat ice creams or chew gum may become agitated and irritated, but from really different reasons. Of course we should not allow our child to eat too much sugar, but this is due to the fact that he or she may become a diabetic rather than because of ADHD.

We all want our child to be healthy and happy but when it comes to proper nutrition for children we usually choose the happy option. Why is that? Maybe we do not want to fight with the most beloved member of our family for every bite of spinach, maybe when we see how grateful pour child is when we give him a candy we want to experience this once more. Anyway, when it comes to nutrition for children, almost every parent has still a lot to do.

Foods To Help In The Anti Aging Process

By: Paul Johnson

For thousands of years, individuals have been in search for the elusive fountain of youth. One such famous search was conducted by Ponce de Leon in the early 1500's. The mythical legend spoke of miraculous waters and those that drank from this fountain would never age but would maintain the beauty of youth. The water was never found and so the fountain of youth remained only a legend.

Despite the fact that this miraculous water was never located, the quest for a miraculous anti aging elixir that would maintain our youthfulness has not been quenched. Today, many products and procedures claim to reverse or slow down the aging process. These products and procedures include natural remedies, creams, injections and plastic surgery.

However, the most natural of all substances may be found in the foods that we eat. These foods may be the natural solution to help in the anti aging process. These foods can be broken down into two basic categories. Those categories include fruits and vegetables.

Fruits

Certain fruits have shown promising results in the anti aging process. Those fruits include apples, strawberries, grapes and raspberries. Researchers have discovered that these particular fruit products contain ellagic acid. Ellagic acid is a nature's natural insect repellent found in various plants

Through the benefits of a daily diet of these fruits, this specific acid has demonstrated the capacity to hinder the growth of tumors within the body. This hindrance of tumor growth is accomplished by the ability of the acid to minimize the enzymes, within the body, that are utilized by mutated cancer cells.

Other fruits that contain valuable anti aging ingredients are cantaloupe, peaches and apricots. These fruits contain antioxidant properties known as lycopene. These antioxidants guard the body's cells from damage caused by free radicals. Additionally these fruits have demonstrated their effectiveness in protecting certain organs of the body. These organs include the heart, bladder and skin.

Additionally, a fruit that can aid in the anti aging process of the skin is the apple. Initial testing has indicated that apples stimulate the production of collagen. The production of collagen is necessary for the skin to maintain its elasticity which can minimize the wrinkling of the skin.

Vegetables

Some vegetables have also demonstrated their ability to fight the anti aging process. Vegetables such as carrots, spinach and sweet potatoes have also demonstrated antioxidant capabilities.

One other group of vegetables, when eaten, that has demonstrated their effectiveness in blocking the production of particular enzymes. These anti aging vegetables include soybeans and alfalfa sprouts. The substance found in these vegetables is known as genistein. Genistein inhibits the production of enzymes that have been identified as stimulants that activate the cancer genes.

By: Jonathon Hardcastle

Tomatoes are made out of water and vital biological substances. The tomato is a plant belonging to the Solanaceae or nightshade family, native to Central and South America, from Mexico to Peru. Because tomatoes are low in calories, they are considered an excellent and nutritional type of food for people that wish to follow a weight-loss plan. In fact, the daily consumption of two tomatoes provides the human organism with 2/3 of the needed vitamin C. Moreover, since tomatoes have in abundance folic acid, which is considered necessary by experts in the reconstruction and recovery of human body cells, they are one of the healthier snacks a patient could eat. Specifically, those that receive any kind of medication treatment, drink a lot of alcohol, or eat a lot of meat, and also pregnant women or the elderly, need to consume folic acid and thus it is considered essential to eat a lot of tomatoes.

This "miracle plant" contains also vitamin E, which is helps fertility and assists in maintaining a balanced sex life. In addition, it is a great recourse of different vitamins from the vitamin B group, which help the human metabolism function smoothly and develops a strong neural system. It also contains selenium, which belongs to the chemical substances that prevent certain types of cancer, while it plays a very important role for the human immune system. The amount of potassium found in tomatoes protects the human heart and the magnesium it contains helps the organism overcome the symptoms of stress and muscular cramps. Tomatoes are also an excellent source of iron, copper and manganese.

Recent studies have concluded that the regular and adequate tomato consumption can actually reduce the risk of developing cancer by 40 percent. This plant's fruit mainly protects the human organism against prostate, lung and stomach type of cancers. In an study conducted in the United States, which included a sample of 14,000 Americans and over 3,000 Norwegians, scientists have discovered that smokers who eat tomatoes or carrots frequently (more than fourteen times a month) had lower chances of developing lung cancer in comparison to the people that did not select to eat these kind of vegetables.

Moreover, nutrition experts support that people should eat both raw and cooked tomatoes. Some ingredients found in the tomatoes become available only through heat and by adding olive oil. They increase energy and are god brain nutrients. Foods containing B Vitamins include wholegrain cereal or rice, nuts, fish, soya, fruits and leafy green vegetables.

Mental stimulation keeps the brain healthy and those with a variety of interest and mental challenges, often have the best memories. So try learning a new language, using your left hand to write if you are right handed or doing crosswords or Sodoko. Meditation can influence parts of the brain that are associated with relaxation, preventing the you from becoming flooded with the stress hormone cortisol which can in turn aid memory according to Ian Robinson professor of psychology at Trinity College in Dublin.

Take more herbs, it has long been known that Ginkgo biloba can boost brain power by increasing circulation to the brain, but these herbs help too Lemon balm increases the activity of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter which can increase your ability to learn and store information. Sage oil supplements improves memory and rosemary essential oil is said to be mentally stimulating and great for concentration.
